From the Silence She Returns

Ok I’ve been away for a few days… or weeks… or something. I apologize. Not to give lame excuses but I think I used up all of my creative writing juices during the “uprisings” and didn’t have anything left to give you during the good times. Even now, as I type this, I have a slight case of writer’s block that I am hoping will magically go away as I proceed from sentence to paragraph to story.

Let’s see, where did we leave off. Oh yeah, I’m an alcoholic who enjoys eating lots of food while guzzling champagne. (I feel as if I’ve blogged that one before.) More Bahrain blogs still await, as I have not yet told you about almost going to Saudi and about our day at the track. I also need to tell you about the two people formerly known as my parents who went on MY cruise to South America. *sob* Not that I’m jealous or anything. *sob* But that may all have to wait a few days.

Since last we blogged, I’ve been wandering again – this time to Egypt for the weekend. (Guilty pleasure admission time: I love the part of being an expat that lets me say that I went to Cairo for the weekend. *grin* ) This semi-disaster of a trip was capped off with some terrific news that some of you may already know.

But I’m getting ahead of myself, before I can tell you my news or even about the pyramids, I have to tell the tale of getting there. And in this case, getting there really was half the battle.
