142 Years and Counting

O Canada!

Our home and native land!

True patriot love in all thy sons command.

With glowing hearts we see thee rise,

The True North strong and free!

From far and wide,

O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

God keep our land glorious and free!

O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

O Canada!

Terre de nos aïeux,

Ton front est ceint de fleurons glorieux!

Car ton bras sait porter l'épée,

Il sait porter la croix!

Ton histoire est une épopée

Des plus brillants exploits.

Et ta valeur, de foi trempée,

Protégera nos foyers et nos droits.

Protégera nos foyers et nos droits
.

Yes, Happy Canada Day! Funny, we don't have a day here called United States Day. Why is that???

Happy Canada Day!
@the ungourmet - Independence Day is our equivalent. :) It's not called an independence day in Canada because it's complicated. :) Canada Day was originally "Dominion Day" due to the act by the UK parliament when it became a country.

I love Canada!! It's so beautiful, PLUS I get all my chocolate like Nestle aero and smarties and stuff that we don't get in the US :) hehehe

Happy anniversary to Typ0's parents! Happy birthday, Canada. If I had a passport, I would cross the Detroit River to celebrate.

I drank Ceasars in the local Canadian bar and then played a Canadian-themed bar quiz - plus, we got a free beer for being Canadian. They played the anthem for us, as well as some Arrogant Worms and Barrett's Privateers. And then Flower of Scotland - not sure where that came from!

Can't say I much liked my 12-hour teaching day on Thursday though!

Canadian celebrations as an expat can be kinda bizarre.

Happy Canada Day!!! We're celebrating the 4th with actual fireworks this year!! We don't mess with them ourselves, but are actually staying some place close enough to walk to the main city display and celebration!!!

Happy Anniversary to your parents too!!!
