Chick Chat in Cairo

Welcome to this week’s installment of Chick Chat! For those of you who aren’t familiar with this fabulous idea, Chick Chat is brought to us by the ladies from Three Bay B Chicks and Hot Chocolate Caramel Mocha. The idea is to get ladies filming themselves (or their pet cheetahs) talking about a variety of topics. This week’s video series is all about the places we live.

The other ladies getting up close and personal with their video cameras this week are the fabulous bloggers from My Home Wellingtontown, Under the Sheets… Shhhh, and The Misplaced Americans. I encourage you stop by all of their blogs because in addition to being incredibly interesting, I’m fairly certain their videos will have better production values than the one I’ve linked to below.

Today’s post officially marks my first Vlog so please be kind and remember that despite what Hubby says my voice sounds nothing like this, and the original version clocked in at twice as long as the one you’ll be watching.

Many thanks to the Eetahs and Hubby for their help in the making of this video!

Want to join in on the fun and participate in an upcoming Chick Chat? Let us know by sending an e-mail to contactchickchat@gmail.com. The Three Bay B Chicks are always looking for participants and topic suggestions.

Congrats on a wonderful vlog and I loved meeting your furry friends. Do I hear a fellow Canadian voice in Egypt? So great that we get to be apart of Chick Chat together.

I love it. I have been fascinated w/ Egypt since a young crazee grade schooler.... The pyramids, and the land itself seem like a "whole other world" to me.

You live 30 minutes from the pyramids? Amazing! I can't even fathom what that must be like.

I have to tell you that the happy dance that your tigers did towards the end of your clip really made me smile.

Thanks, TypO for playing along. You and your cheetahs were great fun.

Hey Typ0, yes your voice really sonds like that!! BTW only 97, try 114 here in Delhi...have you become a lightweight?? I will be in Toronto this summer, giving your recent extended vacation I am guessing you won't be there. Bummer!! Love YA!! M

Yea... but it was 97F with over 24 hours of blowing sand and dust! :D

Love the Eetahs! How cute. I always negotiate a price before I even get in. Good way to get a feel for the driver too... see if he's slimy before you get in the cab. Most aren't, but I like to check.

btw - I use a driver with his own cars (and deputy drivers). Nice, modern cars with AC. He has good English and is very safe, reliable, and punctual. He's more expensive than a black and white, of course, but sometimes having AC and a clean car is worth it! I also can give you the name and number of a good mechanic here (if you have a car?). I'm leaving this year and trying to make sure I pass along the good contacts before I go. :)

My children were glued to the screen when I told them eetahs were talking to us. ;o)

Brazilians are all about negotiating. I could totally do Egypt. (Although might die without shorts.)

Eetahs! Thanks for the great vlog. It's barely getting warm in CA right now, and I'm already wimping out. You guys can keep the high 90's to 100+ weather, I'll let you!

What a great peek into your life. I thoroughly enjoyed listening. And if I ever find myself in Cairo I will have hubby pay the cab driver so that he might have the pleasure of being chased instead of me :)

I am so enjoying visiting these spectacular places today! Being so close to THE pyramids... travelling all over... it sounds so awesome. Except the part about the cab driver - that sounds less fun. ;) Haggling as an artform interests me sincerely. Thanks for all the interesting information and congratulations on a vlog well done!

Camera shy, are you?? Must be a Canadian then!! And I knows me a Canadian when I "see" one! ;)

I sincerely doubt I will ever get to Egypt, however if I do I hope you'll coax the Eetahs into doing another show for me. I give them two baby thumbs up!

Very interesting I love this idea to see places around the world through the eyes of bloggers who live there!
I hate haggling. I always end up just paying more than I needed to and chucking it up to they needed the money or I make someone else with me pay. ;-)

Great vlog! My husband has been to Cairo twice in the last year and is working on a language software which includes an Arabic version coming out soon. I think you sounded great! But what do I know? ;)

Your voice sounds fine! Very nice. And I loved getting so much info in so short time. Although I would have preferred to see your face, I somehow getting the vibe that you are camera shy... :)

I'm sorry I did not understand the concept of the stuffies. You have my sympathy over the heat... hate hot.

Very interesting! My sister and her husband also live in Cairo. They have a one and half year old and it's always neat to hear their stories! You can visit her blog at http://www.heissatopia.com/ anyways, it was neat to hear about Egypt from another source!
