Drum Roll Please

A little over a week ago, I noticed that I had 99 followers. To commemorate that momentous occasion, I decided to host my very first contest. I can’t send or receive mail here in Egypt and I adore reading so the answer was obvious: an Amazon gift certificate.

After four years, 674 posts, and a total of 137 followers, I think it is safe to say that I’m starting to get the hang of this blogging thing. I couldn’t have kept it going without all of the wonderful encouragement and fabulous comments from all of you. You guys are the best followers a girl could ever ask for. Thank you.

I determined the winner using a random number generator and lots of Hubby’s patience and help. Each of my followers was granted one entry, as was everyone who commented on the contest’s initial post. Although that amounted to oodles of entries, as the Highlander taught us “there can be only one.”

Without further ado, I will now announce the winner of the Thank You for Being My Follower Contest:

Congratulations to: American in Norway !!!!!!!

Please leave me a comment on this post with details on how to contact you so that I can email you your $25 Amazon gift certificate. Thanks to everyone who entered!

Congrats to American in Norway!

Now, WHY can't you send or receive mail in Egypt? I lived here eons ago and had no problems in that area, so fess up!

Gaston, while small things like postcards seem to get through about 80% of the time most of our mail seems to mysteriously go missing. Packages are routinely "inspected" by customs officials with varying results.

Personally, even when i need something fedex'ed i have to send it to my husband's office care of HIM since according his work i don't exist. (Not that i'm bitter about that or anything.) I found this out when a rather important package was returned to sender.

I know many people who send and receive mail here with no problems. Sadly, that has not been my experience.

Obviously I need to add you to my blog roll so that I will remember to check here daily (instead of weekly, as has recently been the case). Phooey... I completely missed the contest! (But I am a follower, so I suppose I did at least get one entry.)

Congrats to the winner. What a very generous contest! :)

Yes, congratulations! Always a bridesmaid, never a bride. And instead of bride, I mean, winner. And bridesmaid, uh, well, I think I've said too much!

I'm an old-timer like you. I agree...I likely wouldn't be around without comments. Not that they're everything, but I like blogging because it's a conversation!

Congrats to Miss AiN (I think she has the luck of the Irish following her around...;) )!!

I think with all the international followers, an online gift card is the perfect idea. And now I have that cheesball movie quote stuck in my head ALL evening. Thanks!
