Freezing in the Snow

Yesterday I promised to explain my recent absence from the blogosphere and now I’m ready to confess the truth. For those of you wondering if I am pregnant – you people have sick imaginations! Stop wishing such horrible fates on me! No, the truth is far less scary than the image of me changing diapers: I’m in Toronto!

Last week, I hopped aboard an Emirates flight in Cairo and found myself in Canada by dinner the next day. Luckily, my parents are well used to my erratic ways and didn’t seem too put out by my sudden arrival at their front door. After all, March is the perfect time to visit Toronto when you don’t own a winter coat and 90% of your shoes are sandals.

Ok, so I didn’t put a lot of forethought into my trip home but I’m here and I’m ready to put as much effort into blogging as I will into shopping! Sadly, I have do have important jobs to complete during my time here in the Real World but I promise to put those off for as long as possible so that I can spend my free time catching up on all your wonderful blogs!

Bienvenue au Canada, mes amies!

You need to toss a picture or something onto this blog pronto before I start to fear you've morphed into a giant popsicle as a result of your inadequate wardrobe/shoes!

Enjoy your time at home! Especially between the hours of 1 and 2. :)

I too am just emerging from blog-hibernation, but I was way more slacker than you! Have fun in the real world, and stay warm!

Okay, make sure you take some Ketchup chips back with you. I don't know if you can get them in Cairo but I know I can't get them here in the States and all my Canadian coworkers keep telling how good they are! That and Canadian smarties and canadian pops.

I'm just sayin.

Happy Birthday!

I must admit i just came across your blog via and look forward to going back through some of your posts. i live in toronto and had the opportunity/pleasure to visit egypt in 2007 after years of dreaming about it. i'm very interested in finding out how i could potentially live/work in egypt for a year. reading about your everyday life there will be a way of seeing things from a different perspective - one other than a tourist.

cheers!

You are amazing. I wish I could live as spontaneously as you do!

It seems that you are also elusive. What does a girl have to do to get ahold of your e-mail address? I have a proposal for you...something I'd like for you to participate in. If you send me an address, I can send you some details.
