NaBloPoMo

It is with mixed feelings that I am once again joining National Blog Posting Month. When I joined up last year I was filled with excitement for the challenge of posting every single day for a month. By the end of November 2008, however, I, and several of my readers, noticed that I was literally churning out posts and my writing was become stale with the forced effort of fulfilling the promise of NaBloPoMo.

Hubby was also officially “over” NaBloPoMo last year since it is his job to give my posts at least a cursory glance and edit before I post them. He kept complaining that he had a real job that required his attention and wanted to know when my month of constant blogging would be over. Thus you can imagine my surprise when he was my biggest cheerleader for joining this year. “You took off three months from writing. You’re doing this!” It may sound like an ultimatum (and kind of was), but he was right. I was a lazy, unhappy slacker for three months and now I’m a lazy, contended blogger again. And I like me better this way.

I blog because I love it and the lesson I learned last year is that if, at any point in the month, NaBloPoMo has become drudgery or my writing starts to suffer then I will pull the plug. Surviving the entire month would be great but not at the cost of driving my wonderful Devoted Readers crazy with half-assed writing.

So wish me luck, guys. We’re all in for a long month!

More than good luck, I hope you have FUN!

And if not, I wish you the wisdom to pull the plug - if you feel you must.

Good luck, you will make it!;) It is good with themes and then also to post just pictures at times.;)
I wonder if I can officially be called a blog addict as I have been posting every single day for over a year, except a few holidays here and there.;)

I know you can do it with all the materal you have that you didn't write about for at least three months! You may have been an unhappy slacker but you were definitely enjoying the travelling during that time...go for it!
Don't "break a leg" but the best of luck.
You can do it.:)

You are so brave! I can barely make my commitment (to myself) of one blog post a week.

So, inspire me!

I wish someone can edit my blog before posting 'cause it's full of grammar mistakes. Good luck and I think I'll join this month as well.

I think you're pretty good at posting regularly, so hopefully this won't be too hard! Good Luck! I am joining in too!

I posted everyday last month. It was the first time I hadn't taken a break. I'm not sure what came over me. LOL!

You'll do great! Looking forward to the journey!

I should do this. Because my blogging has been sporadic at best this year. I wonder if it would actually motivate me to complete the 5 posts I have started!

I am sure that you will do great...you could always do a readers ask post...or two :-)

Good for you for joining NaBloPoMo. I couldn't do it because I wouldn't have anything to talk about. My life is very mundane right now since I'm not working and can't afford to go anywhere or do anything.

I'm sure you'll do great though and I look forward to reading each and every post!

I know how you feel about posting ALL the time. I did that for a long time and felt guilty when I didn't but ... now I'm ok with it. Good luck posting daily -- but I think you've got the right attitude!

I think the moment I would sign up would be the same moment that all my brain cells would shrivel and die -- - Ahhh! Pressure!!!

But having said that, I bet you'll do awesome. And have fun with it!

(Cool Beans about all your followers by the way... that's great!)

Kudos for all your efforts! I don't think I'll ever find a time to write everyday so you doing this is achievement enough. Best of luck!

I'm participating too! I did it last Nov, Dec, Jan, and Feb. and then I fell off the wagon.

Good luck!

Good luck! And I think that's a good idea, if it's gets to be too much, just don't do it.

He has a real job that requires his attention...ha! It's kind of late and I'm just stating what makes me laugh late at night. Sleep deprived commenting shouldn't be allowed... :o)

My best, Lynn
