Saturday Escapes

I don’t like to admit this too often but the truth of the matter is that I have zero fashion sense. Let me put this into perspective for you: my husband (whose hotness is pictured here) dresses more fashionably than I do. It isn’t entirely my fault though: during those formative fashion years of high school, I was stuck in blue plaid day in and day out. Yet despite what many people believe to be a tragic case of bad taste mixed with a slight tendency toward colour questionability (I’m not colour blind but I seem to see different shades than everyone else), I adore fashion.

Lately that passion has been fed by the Red Carpet Fashion Awards. This fashion and style blog features photos and critiques of the outfits worn by the rich and famous at events ranging from Oscars and SAG awards to the latest movie openings and social events. Best of all, Fashion Critic not only shows how great (or tack-tacular) the stars look in their ensembles, but also includes photos of how the outfit looked on the runway. I love to vote in the random “Who wore it best” surveys that decide which identically clad celebs looked more impressive in their twice worn duds.

Even if you’re not a celebrity addict like I am, this is a great site to catch up the latest trends and styles in fashion. So click on over and check out what people wore to this week’s hottest events and who needs to fire their stylist. I promise the Red Carpet Fashion Awards won’t disappoint!

The Red Carpet Fashion Awards is this week’s Saturday Escape.

I know what theoretically looks good, and if something's wrong with some outfit on a celebrity...but myself? Forget it. Some days it's a miracle the socks match.

Looking forward to the continuation of Typ0 and Hubby World Trip!

I hate fashion! And it shows...

Going to disagree here… You can look all sorts of hotness when you want to.

I always thought you looked...well...cute in your uniform!
And I think you look great anytime. :)

I had to laugh when I realized that you tried to mask the identity of your husband.;) Was he pleased with his new look on the picture?;)
I am very much into fashion, but whether I have any fashion sense is another question. I guess I have my own style and I really do not care what others think of it.;)
No I am off to visit that site you mention,;)
I really like this theme of yours.;) Hope you are having a great Saturday,
xo

Poppet... what are you drinking. On the two occasions that we hung out, you looked fabulous! Like you, I grew up in a school uniform (blue plaid would have been kind), and still consider myself a complete dud when it comes to 'dressing up'. Over the years, this has been pretty much the only source of friction between Mr Dear Husband and I... I say "How do I look?"... he says "you look great!"...I say "why did you look at me funny when you said that?".... you get the drift.

Sadly my husband has more fashion sense than I do as well...

My son liked the funny face! :D

I have no fashion sense. It's quite sad!

Off to check your link. sounds fun.

I'm an easy dresser...and hate shopping. I wear what anybody buys me.

Let's say fashion is being comfortable and liking the way we look. Isn't that enough? What is the weather like in Egypt right now? It is nice and cool here but not freezing yet.

I apparently don't have any fashion sense either. I don't always like a lot of what is supposed to be in fashion.

Haven't heard of that link before. I'm into celebrity gossip so thanks for passing this on!

My fashion sense is nada. Nil. Zippo. I wish I could wear jeans and sweatshirts 24/7. Things are so bad at my casa that Mr. Fairway is the one who uses the walk-in closet. Yup, he's the clothes horse around here.

My problem with fashion is that I have this odd belief - that I cannot shake - that clothes should be comfortable, functional (pockets dammit!) and then, fashionable... which of course, is NOT what women's clothes are about, at all. My ideal outfit is jeans (that fit - ha!), a well-washed soft silk shirt (long sleeve, button front), comfy bra (yea .. right.. ) and cushy socks. Why don't fashion designers work to prefect this??? Actually, I would kind of like a female version of the Men's Wearhouse - you know, where you can walk in, be measured, have an entire business wardrobe picked out and tailored for you, then walk out (done!)? I'd shop there.

I am completely oblivious to fashion. I wear what feels comfortable and classic, although I can't always guarantee that it's right for my shape, size, or the latest trend. But I do so love celebrity watching!
