Saturday Escapes

I have a confession: I’m not in Cairo right now. Don’t worry: I’m not on vacation or anything fun like that. I’m in the middle of moving. In fact, as you read these words, I will be busy settling into my new flat in Oslo. Hubby and I took advantage of the Eid break in Egypt to fly up North to begin the process of starting our lives over again. From buying boots (since I don’t own any) to visiting IKEA (for all of life’s little necessities), the next few days are going to be jam packed with all the small jobs that are encompassed within the reality of unpacking our new Norwegian lives.

I can’t wait to share my final impressions of Egypt and my first impressions of Norway with you. That, however, will have to wait for another day since I am first tasked with the job of sharing my latest website finds with you. That’s right -- I said, “finds” plural. Today I wanted to share two great blog networking sites with you. Many of you may already know about The Secret is in the Sauce and Best Posts of the Week but for those of you not in the loop: get with it!

The SITS girls are a great way to start meeting new bloggers. Whether you visit the spotlighted blogger of the day, or are simply sharing the comment love with another SITSa, this site never lets its readers down. I cannot tell you how many awesome blogs I have found through SITS. Even better, a lot of people have also discovered me thanks to SITS. All it takes is a couple minutes and a comment.

Best Posts of the Week is a site that does exactly what the title says. Each week bloggers send in a link to whatever post they are most proud of from the last seven days. Then on Saturday the wonderful Bettyl shares the linky love and sends readers directly to the best the blogosphere has to offer. Although they may not yet have quite as many followers as SITS, BPOTW is a great blogging resource week after week.

With love from Norway, this week's Saturday Escapes are The Secret is the Sauce and Best Posts of the Week.

Thank you for reminding me of IKEA. I have been able to find just about everything else in Jordan, I am hoping there is an IKEA too... am I being too optimistic? I hope not! :D Good luck with your move and thanks for the links.

The Cairo apartment looks so totally, shall I say it, chaotic!
Hopefully you will have a bed to sleep in at your new apartment in Oslo and all your boxes will arrive safely from Cairo.

I want to hear your first impression of the weather after Cairo!
Do you miss the sun already? :)

So I barely got to read about your adventures in Cairo and now you're off to Norway! I can hardly wait, and meanwhile I'll be looking through some of your past posts to catch up. Your world is definitely more exciting than my world.

And thanks for the great referrals. I've got two posts on Best Posts today and I've joined the other site now, too.

I can't believe you found time to post in between all that packing and unpacking! I'm so glad you did because I'd have missed you otherwise!

And thanks for the links. Someone once suggested that I check out SITS to help build a following for my blog but I've never really taken the time to do it since my blog is pretty dull. Maybe I'll just take a peek at it!

As for the Best Posts blog, I will most definately take a look. I love discovering new blogs!

Welcome to Norway although who am I to say it since I have only been resident of this country for a little over two month.

I hope you like it here now that it gets depressing without sunshine.

Wow - You're moving!!! Congrats on the move and I hope you enjoy Oslo! A friend of mine lived there for about 3 years and really enjoyed it (although she's from Germany, so I guess she was a bit used to the weather and light...) :)
Good luck with everything and please let us know what you think of Norway!

I didn't know you were moving! Have I been out of the loop for that long? How exciting....could you get somewhere more unlike Cairo than Oslo? Wait, did that sound right. I bet you know what I mean. Good luck on the move. I'm going to catch up on the rest of the month right now.
